Quinceañeras: the pre-sessionthat changes the night.
Why the editorial pre-session releases pressure on the day and lets the celebration be lived without posing.

Quinceañeras are planned for months —dress, venue, choreography, music— and photography is often decided in the last week. When the pre-session is part of the plan from the start, the whole night changes: the quinceañera already knows the camera, and the camera already knows her.
The night is planned for weeks.
We start with her personality
Before choosing poses or locations, we understand how she wants to feel in front of the camera: her references, her way of dressing, the music she listens to and what doesn't feel like her. From there we build a visual direction of her own, far from the repeated catalogue formula.
The pre-session frees the night
The session offers time, light and location without hurry, and lets her get to know how I direct before the celebration. When the day arrives there's no portrait block to squeeze: the faces are ready and the night is for living. Thirty minutes beforehand buy a celebration without posing.
The family story is the story
Quinceañeras don't only happen on the dance floor: the getting-ready, the parents' gestures, the grandparents, the siblings and the family rituals build the meaning these images will gain over time. The pre-session doesn't replace that narrative — it unlocks it, so the whole day is covered.
'The night is remembered for how it was lived, not for how many times an entrance was repeated.'

Coordinate with production, not the other way around
Screens, moving lights, fog and effects transform a scene in seconds. Sharing the technical rundown with the production team lets me anticipate entrances and simultaneous dances without asking the celebration to stop. And with minors involved, publication permissions are set before the event.
So the night flows
Define personality and references before locations.
Book the pre-session early: light and timing on your side.
Cover the family too: getting-ready, rituals, hugs.
Share the technical rundown with the production team.
Agree publication permissions before the event.
