It's the first question that lands in our WhatsApp inbox and it deserves an honest answer: the price of a wedding coverage is not a single number. It depends on the days, the team, the film, the delivery and the destination. Here we explain how a proposal is built and which ranges the market is seeing, so you come to the conversation with information instead of uncertainty.

What determines the price

Almost nothing is priced by the hour. The price reflects the days covered, the size of the team — a second shooter changes the coverage — whether there is film in addition to photography, distance and logistics, the number of edited images and the type of delivery. A one-day wedding in Medellín and a full weekend at a remote destination cannot cost the same, and a proposal that doesn't break these points down is hard to compare.

Market ranges in Medellín

These are ranges observed in the local market, not a fixed rate: every proposal is personalised once we know your date, city and type of celebration. As a guide, professional wedding coverage in Medellín usually sits between COP 2 and 4 million depending on scope, and multi-day destination weddings are quoted separately, in pesos or dollars.

Quick guide

  1. Single sessions and short ceremonies: under COP 2 million.
  2. One-day wedding with a professional team: COP 2 to 4 million.
  3. Destination weddings and multi-day celebrations: quoted separately, in pesos or dollars.

What a proposal should include

Before comparing figures, compare contents: covered days and hours, number of photographers, film or not, deliverables, editing times, publication permissions, booking policy and who backs up the coverage on the day. A proposal that names all these points prevents misunderstandings; one that just says 'full wedding' leaves you comparing different things.

A very low price is information too

If a figure sits far below the market ranges, something is holding it up: fewer hours of coverage, a single photographer with no backup, rushed editing or delivery without review. Photography is the only thing that will remain of the day, and comparing only by the lowest number is the safest way to regret it later. The useful question is not 'how much does it cost?' but 'what exactly does that figure cover?'

Before comparing two proposals

  1. Ask for the breakdown: days, team, film and deliverables.
  2. Confirm editing and gallery delivery times.
  3. Review publication permissions and privacy in writing.
  4. Ask about backup, booking and payment methods.
  5. Compare scope against scope, not figure against figure.

It depends on the scope. As a reference, professional coverage in Medellín usually sits between COP 2 and 4 million for a one-day wedding, and multi-day destination weddings are quoted separately. With your date, city and type of celebration we'll send a clear proposal.

It's defined in each proposal. Photography and film are different languages with different editing times, and adding a second shooter widens the coverage without you having to watch it. Everything is broken down in writing before you book.

Destination weddings are quoted separately from local coverage: the days covered, the team's travel, the itinerary and the deliverables define the price. We work in pesos or dollars and coordinate everything by video call before you arrive in the country.

The date is held with a contract and the agreed retainer, with receipt and clear dates. If you live abroad we can coordinate in dollars. Everything is in writing before any confirmation.
